Born in Hialeah, Florida, and currently based in Hallandale Beach, Pablo’s work is deeply anchored in his personal experiences. As a second-generation Latino artist of Ecuadorian descent, he grew up immersed in a rich mix of Caribbean and South American influences, all of which have profoundly shaped his creative journey.

During his residency, Pablo aimed to capture the unique sense of unity that defines Miami – a melting pot of different backgrounds and traditions. In a bold departure from his usual materials, he began experimenting with discarded palm leaves found along the streets. The results were nothing short of astonishing. Pablo discovered that these leaves were not only malleable and durable but also versatile, offering him an opportunity to explore different artistic expressions such as collage, printmaking, and even jewelry.

Pablo’s exploration didn’t stop there. He started to combine these palm leaf creations with his charcoal drawings, producing an organic blend of the two mediums that resonates profoundly with his themes of cultural fusion and environmental responsibility. The partnership between the palm leaves and charcoal drawings has resulted in a body of work that is not only visually arresting but also conceptually stimulating.
